Topiary has its place - even in Australia

Forget all the stuff in the foreground. That's not appropriate. I'm talking about the "carved" trees in the background. 

They're in a park here in Madrid. I didn't go over to check them out but they looked like Olives or maybe Ficus*.

We should put a few formal accents like this into our otherwise "natural" parks. They say "humans live here". They say "we care about our park".

And they're not hard to do either.

Really nice stuff.

* Melaleuca and Metrosideros would work in Australia too
