That's what this Tree Protection Zone (TPZ) is for all the good it's doing.
There's no point putting a measly little fence around a tree if you're going to cut off its water and treat its entire root zone with contempt like this.
The results speak for themselves.
Again, do we actually want to save trees or just be able to say we tried?
During construction work, Councils need to enforce TPZ's to the Australian Standard or we're going to lose a lot of mature street trees as Perth's redevelopment continues.
What other class of asset would a council allow to be trashed like this? Imagine if it was their road? There would be merry hell to pay!
