World record worst tree choice for a carpark

Well, perhaps not quite, but whoever decided to plant Swamp Mahogany (Eucalyptus robusta) in this Subiaco carpark certainly had a sense of humour.

It's an aesthetically-challenged, dead wood-shedding, inconsistent kind of tree, best left in the swamps of eastern Australia where it comes from.

Why anyone thought it suitable as a CBD tree in upmarket Subiaco is anybody's guess.

Still, my mood lifted considerably when further up the road I found...

A 1966(?) Ford Mustang, beautifully restored back to showroom condition.

I want it.
