Treescaping

When do we ever think to do this?



We're stuck in the "trees-with-under-storey" mentality when massed trees would be a better bet in many circumstances (like here for instance).

It's a cheap, low maintenance streetscape that also saves the planet.

What's not to like?!

These Lemon-scented Gums (Corymbia citriodora) are at the University of Western Australia.

If you haven't been there for a while, go have a look.

They have some magnificent trees, including what has to be the biggest Port Jackson Fig (Ficus rubiginosa) in Perth.

I'm planning to get some shots of it for the "Perth's Best Trees" feature I'm putting together. 

All I've got to figure out is how to capture such a huge thing on camera!

Seriously, go check it out. It's a jaw-dropper.

It's on the south side of Winthrop Hall.
