Long Island ferry

I went to the stern of the Long Island ferry to see what I could learn.

I looked down at the churning wake - particularly the mounds from it's two propellers - 

and realised how much it took to push that unthinking craft through the sea.

And I thought how easier life would be if we flowed with the day, not pushed against it.


And was grateful.
