I forgot to put this up while I was in Boston

It's a beautiful cemetery right in the heart of Boston's CBD! 

It dates back to the 1600's(!) and the city has simply grown up around it*.

It doesn't show here, but the whole thing is surrounded by tall city buildings.

And what also doesn't show is that there are huge trees dotted amongst the headstones.

It was quite surreal. 

And it made me realise that cemeteries can be beautiful.

And usable.

It's good for the living to go to the place of the dead. Makes you think.

I suspect the reason is because some of the heavy hitters of Boston's past are buried there. Who would be game to move them?!
