A Reader Said (17)

A reader emailed to ask what time of year she should prune the low branches off her Poinciana. I thought I'd share my response in case others have the same query.

Hi  ______

In Perth you can basically prune any time (the only time I avoid is the middle of summer) but the ideal time is early spring before the new season's growth starts. And yes, you want to take the low branches off. It encourages the tree to form a higher canopy.

Best regards,

Grayden
