Look at this magnificent thing. It's a Lemon-scented Gum (Corymbia citriodora) on The Boulevard, Floreat.
It's huge size and near faultless form are all the more remarkable when you consider what it's growing out of...
But I did notice the poor thing was starting to look a bit peaky all the same.
And that, folks, will be because, just out of shot to the left, the house has been demolished and yep, you guessed it, the irrigation has been turned off.
If I were the council I would be implementing some "save our tree" measures post-haste*. Not just because it's a magnificent tree but because it's hanging over a bus stop.
