"Denial 'aint just a river in Egypt" (Mark Twain)

I had a very sobering discussion today with a Parks and Gardens officer.

It was sobering because he was in denial that his council had a problem when it was easily demonstrable that they do. They're using poor quality stock, their planting method is sub-standard and their maintenance is inadequate.

This sort of stuff used to be Parks 101. What's gone wrong?

I'm not sure to be honest. All I know is we have to wake up. Because we're not going to end up with a flourishing, full-canopied urban forest over Perth before the end of this century if we don't.
