Let them breathe
This is one of a number of dead (or crook) Plane trees on the verge of a new subdivision in Lapsley Rd, Claremont.
They haven't been in long and they're on irrigation.
So what went wrong?
The shrubs and ground covers around the tree are doing very nicely thanks very much - because they're taking all the water.
The moral of the story?
Always leave a mulched, plant-free zone around new trees. Landscape Architects don't design this way because they want a happy client on opening day. But trust me, dead trees will soon make him a very grumpy one.
