Conference wash up (8)

Finally, it would be remiss of me not to comment on the presentation by Igor Lacan from the University of California. It was in the "death zone" (the pen-ultimate presentation) but delivered so superbly no-one blinked. It re-inforced to me that you always have to tell a story when you present anything to anyone. We seem hardwired to like them. Igor obviously knew this and did it brilliantly as he told us all about his study of abandoned urban forest around Chernobyl. I reckon he might have a second career presenting insurance seminars...
