…one grass-smothered, water-starved, stake-damaged tree at a time.

The new Perth Street Tree planting, watering and maintenance service is aiming to make sights like this a thing of the past in Perth.

The Urban Forest push is here, folks.  Check out this press release from 202020 Vision today...

THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT'S PLANS TO INCREASE TREE COVER IN AUSTRALIA'S BIG CITIES
Long-term government planning will attempt to bring down temperatures and improve the health and quality of life as part of its new focus on the lives of city-dwellers.

Acting Cities Minister, Greg Hunt, has acknowledged that "an effective way to reduce the severity of the heat island effect is to increase the greenery in our cities."

He is expected to outline a plan to work with cities to set decade by decade goals (up until 2050) to develop urban canopies and increase overall tree coverage.

Further opportunities to improve urban heat severity will also be explored, including improving urban water systems, managing storm water, addressing ocean outfall and improving energy efficiency in our cities. Click here to read the full article and tell us what you think by joining the conversation on LinkedIn.

Thank you,
